hi
how about about a board for trams / light rail / metros????
tim
Do we have enough interest in them to need a separate board? :hmmm:
Paul
Count me in, all my new trams and TomyTec track has arrived, just need to incorporate in the layout which will mean remaking Claywell High Street.
Hi Paul,
Although I don't model trams, I have an interest in them and would find find a board for them very interesting.
Regards Alan.
If there is enough interest then it would be a welcome addition, however i suspect that many folk on here, although have a passing interest in trams probably wont be that keen on them as to warrant its own section.
Im more than happy to eat humble pie on this though!
Im trying to think of the amount of tram themed N Gauge layouts i have seen in the last 5 years, probably enough to count on one hand!
I suppose if more RtR Trams were available then there would be more modellers.

Some having a bit more input than others ;)
Put it to a vote ! There are a few non rail sections on the forum such as jokes, what are you listening to ,
angry thread, after all trams use rails and the range of models is quite extensive now. Could include metro
and underground.
A London Underground kit will soon be available

Gives the possibility for something similar to this (if there are any NSE fans out there  )
IOW underground stock in NSE (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=IOW+underground+train+NSE&client=firefox-a&hs=vBn&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=9wTYUdmHEbKQ7AbHrYHQAQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1025&bih=434#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=26tYTO8TGZd0YM%3A%3BbbI3eT6ETN4pkM%3Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fupload.wikimedia.org%252Fwikipedia%252Fcommons%252F8%252F80%252FIsle_of_Wight_483_001.jpg%3Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fcommons.wikimedia.org%252Fwiki%252FFile%253AIsle_of_Wight_483_001.jpg%3B508%3B389)
yes it may be a bit too specialist, and i'm guessing there are already tram based discussion boards elsewhere on the net...
having said that, there do seem to be a few people on here who have n gauge trams now, and there is more available in n gauge because of all the japanese stuff...
ring road had a tram on it (midland metro). and there is thornton gate too of course! and there is a 00 layout with the tyne and wear metro on it i noticed.
anyway i'm not really a tram fan, just been looking for info for my dad really.

There is a small amount of underground stock already available from people like Bill Bedford and various scratch built stuff, as well as some 3D printed stock from Paul Burkitt Gray

Alan (currently working on a district line electric locomotive for 3D printing)
As I've done a fair amount of tramway modelling (albeit in 4mm) and am also involved with full size tram restoration & operation, I should really vote in favour!
However, RM Web has a Tramways sub-forum of which use is sporadic and dominated by Prototype info and 4mm modelling with very little N gauge content (the only really active N gauge thread is about Thornton Gate which already appears on here in parallel), so I'm not sure if the volume of content would make it worthwhile...
Paul
Having modeled Japanese trams and still having them and the tram track (all now in storage) not too worried either way.
Reason being like Thornton Gate  and Moogles Edwardian Layout  could just be a layout thread.
Has now been set up :claphappy:
