Title: East Lancs Railway
Post by: lionwing on June 28, 2013, 01:35:14 PM
I work very close to the East Lancs Railway and while most of the time during the working week it is idle during school holidays or in advance of a weekend there is some activity.

Today I've heard multiple steam whistle's blowing and on days when the weather is finer I have spent a little time observing operations during my lunch break.

Not a bad way to pass a little time!

Ditto!  :D

I've had my office window open this morning and can hear the kettle whistles when they approach the foot crossing at Burrs.  It'll be a different sound next Friday morning with the diesel gala.

I could hear one or two Diesels honking this morning!

Might just have a wander round tomorrow lunchtime and see what is going on!

Decisions, decisions...open the office window and get hayfever and listen to the 09.00 off Bury or keep it closed and do some work.  :D

It's Friday which in old Anglo Saxon means "thou shall do no work but give the impression that you are working" !

Open the window and get on the antihistamine!
