Title: Train shops near Telford

Hi,

Off on out hols next weekend. Any train shops in the Telford area?

None I could recommend ... Shrewsbury has a vaguely OK one, up near Tesco North of the city.

Best bet is to head to Hereford, and call into Hereford Models; if you take the train, it's on the walk into the city.

The ones near me are

Footplate - Kidderminster
Model Mecca - Kingswinford
Tennets Trains - Halesowen
DCC Supplies - Near worcester (have some scenry but no locos, coaches etc)

I still haven't made my mind up about Footplate ... they can be 'strange' in there ... but OTOH, they're just down the road from SVR (literally - walk out of the SVR car park, cross over the road & walk down to the roundabout; they're about 2-3 shops before you get there).  Prices aren't particularly competitive either, but the selection is reasonable.

Speaking of SVR - don't forget that they stock Bachmann, although the better selection is at Bridgenorth.

DCC Supplies are good if you want DCC stuff (obviously  :D), track, etc.  Always worth having a pop in if you're close.  But they're a step out from Telford ;)  Only locos they have are the specials from Modellbahn Union, but I see the A4s have gone :(  Unless you're into Hornby Railroad ...  :no:
