For those interested Top Gear BBC 2 Tonight features The Great Central Railway. They do one of their crazy stunts featuring caravan carnage and the usual capers.
Wont be every ones cup of tea, but I will be watching.
Me toooo
I had no idea it was on but I shall make sure I am sitting comfortably
We need a smily to represent the top gear sports train :smiley-laughing:

Am I the only one that can't stand Top Gear or any of it's presenters?

Probably :smiley-laughing:
Excellent episode, caravans even get wrecked on the railway!
Take James May's Toy Stories race against the Germans. The Germans were told that the train to complete the contest in the fastest time would be the winners. They had no idea it was a best of three contest until after they got back to Germany.
There was an article in the Radio Times by Clarkson many years ago. About engine pollution he said you should drive faster because the amount of pollution given out was dependant on how long the engine was on, not the speed you drove at.
i thought it was excellent, apart from, as usual, hammond being an idiot
Your not alone Poliss as every time my Wife sees the Top Gear crew on TV she wants to chuck a brick at the telly. ???

Well, I can't stand Richard Hammond and the way he talks. I'm sure he's a lovely guy in real life.
I enjoyed the program a lot though. Everyone seemed to be really miserable in the caravans though! :D
Me too. All good idiotic fun.
I presume the Peak suffered little or no damage ploughing through the caravan at the end.
One of the funniest items they've ever done I thought. 'Scum Class' was hilarious.
Almost as good as driving to the north pole though that was a whole programme.

I wonder when Farish are gonna release Clarkson's sports train :smiley-laughing:
I don't think I'll mention the pulling power of it. Doh

Cant be any worse in the pulling power department than most of Dapols latest releases :smiley-laughing:
Repeated on BBC3 tonight if anyone missed it
A little information from a reliable gcr volunteer, the peak had a metal box fabricated over the eth equiment on the front to prevent damage, however it suffered minor damage after the trolley the caravan was mounted on flicked up during the collision.
The damage was limited to a dented front end and one of the headcode glass panels smashed.
The peak is now however having a full bodywork overhaul with funds coming from the beeb apparently.

Mike
