Title: Mecano Bridge
Post by: lil chris on June 16, 2013, 11:42:45 PM
Not strictly railway related But a few might be interested in good old mecano.I started my modeling with mecano and I loved it. This is a bridge, and some tables and seats, built of scaled up mecano on the Bury/Bolton canal by the old locks at nob end, yes I did say nob end check on a map if you dont believe me.

It's gone full circle; first meccano models a bridge, than a bridge that models meccano.....
Looking good though!  8)

Very appropriate for Bolt-on.

So whose going to translate that into an  :ngauge: cameo on their layout?

Wouldn't you need some Meccano at about 1/5 scale?

glad you like everyone, i think its brilliant. I got there by pedal cycle, you can just see it at the back in one of the pics. So it serves two uses for me...1/ exercise 2/ just admire it and sit there and relax.(wishing I still had my mecano)

Live in Bolton, not been to Nobend  for years, thought the bridge still derelict, the canal society deserve praise for this one. As for modeling the bridge I am just starting out , however my layout does include a canal and basin. Just need the courage to try............... :greatpicturessign:
