Title: DM toys
Post by: porkie on June 11, 2013, 08:21:44 PM
Hi peeps,
Just a word of warning if you are looking to buy anything with your hard earnt cash.

I placed an order nearly 2 months ago for a few items. Got an email conformation to say my goods are packed and on their way.  ive never orderd anything from over the water before so thought to myself 2-3wks. A relistic eta.  So after this time I sent a nice polite email about my concerns of the order.
Had a nice reply back asking to wait another week, and contact them if no parcel.
So I waited and still no joy. So I sent another email asking for a tracking number to see where it is. That was two weeks ago. And they have now stopped replying and cut me off when I called them on the phone.
Im just glad I only spent £35.

So lesson learned, give them a wide bearth unless you want to get burnt.

Ouch.. I've not had problems with them beyond spam.

Your credit card company or paypal will hopefully both be happy to persuade them to talk 8)

Hi porkie,

Shame you've had a bad experience. I have always found them very efficient and punctual. They always replied rapidly to emails and in good english. Everything in stock etc. and sent within 3-5 days.

Not much help to you but they have changed premises recently (on the forum somewhere) so maybe that's the problem. Computer glitches etc.

Hope helps. I'm sure German efficiency will prevail in the end.

How annoying!    I can only say that I've had three orders from them (last being 2 years ago now) and they always delivered quite quickly.

I would keep trying to get resolution with them.

I have had a few orders with them ranging from a Kato Eurostar down to a their construction crane.  Quick delivery in each case.

Good luck, and let us know if it gets resolved.

Sorry you've got a problem.

My recent order for a few vehicles took around 10/14 days to get here but otherwise all was fine.

Hope you get things resolved and yes, as mentioned, please let us know how you get on.

Well guys its not good news,

DM Toys have now gone silent again replying to emails and PayPal arnt interested now either due to their 45 day rule.

So a few words of wisdom if you are looking to buy from this shambles of a company.

Save your money and stick to UK companies,
I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole.

Your bank doesn't have a 45 day rule so that in some cases can be an option.

Hi porkie,

Sorry again of your trouble. Do you know anyone German or who speaks it well. A friend of mine had trouble with a company in Munich with e mails back and forth, not a lot happening. He then got his mate's German wife to ring them and don't know what she said but seemed to get the ball rolling and was settled in a week.

Just an idea.

Good luck,

Disappointing when a supplier lets you down.

I have bought from them a while back without any problem apart from a bit slow on shipping - 10/14 days. Was going to order a few bits as I got their email newsletter just yesterday.

Hope you get the problems sorted. Good idea re a German speaker making a call, if that's at all possible.
