Please forgive me if this topic was covered somewhere else on the forum. :o
I am from South Africa and need info from the people that know. My wife and I would like to tour through Europe by train next year. At the same time we want to visit the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg and possibly other layouts worth visiting. Any suggestions? Countries that we would like to cover is The Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy. We have been to the UK several times, thus not on our list this time. ;)
Are there any package train-tours available that anyone can suggest? ::) Please remember, I am not Rockafeller, I am the other feller. We can fly from Johannesburg to any major city in Europe and then plan our tour from there.

As a suggestion why dont you PM forum member Lawrence?
He recently went to Hamburg and wrote a detailed account of his journey on tbe forum. He may be able to advise you of some good hotels/places to see etc.....

If you want an organised itinerary and tour then there are specialists in this such as Ffestiniog Travel (an offshoot of the Ffestiniog Railway).
If you plan to travel in Italy make sure you know the Italian for "how much is the supplement on this train" or you'll get some surprises !
