Hello. I am not sure if this is the right place to ask but I hope it is. Either way, could someone help me out with a source for good quality small wheels in N Gauge. I have one of the Arnold shunting tractors that has pretty small wheels but I need some more and could do without the £100+ price tag.
I am hoping to get these wheels onto a trailer a DU65 maintenance vehicle.
Many thanks
Stephen
You do not say what size
Sorry, I should have said. The diameter of the Arnold wheels is about 3-4mm + 1mm for the flange.
The smallest wheels I've found generally available (been looking for some for the WIA Arbel) is 28" in 1:160 - ie 4.4mm. It's possible there are some smaller Japanese ones around.
Old Farish steam loco bogie wheels are pretty small....
Cheers,
Alan
The Dapol Megafrets have pretty small wheels.
Fox Valley Models make very nice 28" wheelsets in two different axle lengths

you can get them through ModelTrainStuff.com (http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/N-Scale-Couplers-Trucks-Wheelsets-s/1445.htm?searching=Y&sort=3&cat=1445&show=30&page=1&brand=Fox%20Valley%20Models)
Don't suppose anyone knows someone in the UK who carries the 28" ones ?
Hi EP, I have some small ones, do you need pointed or plain axles? I have 2 plain axles with 4.4mm plastic wheels, 10 pointed axles with 5.12mm dark metal wheels and a few with 5.12mm bright metal wheels.
Let me know if any of them fit the bill and I'll pop them in the post to you for a small donation to the forum!
Thanks - but I'm looking to get myself a fair number of identical axles and ones I can re-order - a pair of WIA car carriers will need 24 axles worth.
