Friends,
For those who could not attend, could those who did give us all the benefit of their experience?
For me personally it would make interesting reading!
Regards, Peter.
I think the best i could say is its alright. In some respects its nothing to write home about, they do have some good layouts and also its possible to get some good bargains but i dont know sometimes you get the feeling they had a perfect show then stripped the really expensive bits out to keep costs down. It was definitley quieter today though so maybe the weather must give them a kick.

I thought it was really good, apart from the usual problems of certain layouts looking good but having nothing actually running, whether it be due to general apathy by operators too busy chatting amongst themselves or in one case having an argument between two fiddle yard operators over running numbers ::)
The standard of layouts seemed better than last year, and quite a good mix of scales too :)

I got in just after 10:00 and lost a couple of hours just looking for the stuff on my shopping list -I thought the attendance was about normal, but the traders I spoke to said they were having a quiet time - having said that, it wasn't until later in the afternoon that I could get a close look at some of the layouts - in the morning there were crowds sometimes 2 or 3 deep around some of them

Well reading the 'official' thread that has been running for a couple of months is indeed interesting....

I had to wait till Sunday. It's my local show but this year I had a horrid drive down from Norwich. There was still plenty of parking without having to go 'down the hill' when I got there at 9.15. Some layouts were certainly short of action (including some with quite long runs) and unlike TINGS no layouts really 'grabbed' me. A bit average (unlike the catering prices!).
I enjoyed it, even though I realised I didn't see half of it (2 days on the DEMU stand).
The layout seemed to have wider aisles than usual which made things less cramped, though the weather might have put some people off.
I thought there were some excellent layouts: Porthcullin, Black Country Blues and Banbury were the ones that really stood out for me (though as I say I didn't see half the stuff).
Cheers, Mike
