Title: I am having a sabattical from modelling.
Post by: Oldman on March 21, 2013, 09:23:45 PM
As some of you may have noticed from my last project thread I have lost all interest at the moment. Everything has been packed away including tools, part built models, track, rollingstock and buildings.
I don't know how long the break will be, however I shall help "monkey" make her baseboard and lay the track - I promised I would so can't break a promise - but she is currently very busy with her schoolwork trying to sort out the best grades for her to take up her GCSE options.  That gives me till the School summer holidays to make a baseboard approx 3' x 2'.

Monkey may keep you updated when she has time but I don't know- it's up to her.

I shall not be responding to pm's etc as the computer is being used for other things till I am ready to return to the hobby.

Fair enough if you need a break, just don't be a complete stranger ;)

Sounds interesting ;)  Should be doing something in a similar vein myself come the better weather, albeit less 'extreme'  :D

Don't forget grandad  "******" keeps his workshop spotless, and even washes up the coffee mugs every time they have been used. Coffee filters etc are in the cupboard above the fridge.
Paul, he will be in petrol head heaven. Private  air-conditioned workshop in a converted barn with 4 post ramp, full snap on 2 trolley toolkit, electronics diagnostics and the facilities to completely strip and rebuild a car.

I have been there and am not allowed to disclose who or where. All I can say is the security is very very good.

Good luck Mike, I think many of us get like that every now and again, one reason I keep going is I am trying to get something that I can stand back and look at to justify all the money I have spent on this hobby over the years  :help:

Super scary.
Have just discovered today I was misled about the engine I shall be helping my friend to  sort out.
It is an ex NASCAR engine from 2009, complete with a crate of spare pistons, con rods, billet crankshaft, and a brand new set of  race Crane Cams.

You could buy a new family car for less than this lot cost.

If you think I'm going to risk life and limb doing that think again :uneasy: :uneasy:
The contents of the garage next to the workshop are even more expensive.
There are 3 classic cars and 2 bikes including a Ferrari,Bentley, Harley1200cc Single pot rigid frame and an original Norton Commando.

Shame about the Harley, but a Commando!

Currently sorting out stuff here so I can think about any train progress.
The other project is on hold for a month- alright for the owner to go on holiday in the Seychelles whilst we freeze :hmmm:
