I've been tasked with producing a display-quality 4-TC unit with matching Class 33/1, as a raffle prize for the 4-TC society at the Swanage Diesel Gala in May.
One of the options is to plinth the model, so I would be needing a nice-quality long, narrow plinth, capable of taking 4xMk1s and a 33.
Any suggestions, please? A quick Google shows nice logo-sized ones but not for a full unit.
Something like this maybe? http://www.train-safe.de/index_en.php?section=13 (http://www.train-safe.de/index_en.php?section=13)
Gerard
I used to make these as part of the locomotive repaints I produced in OO gauge
I would suggest using 60mm x 40mm plywood strips
Bleach the plywood with a dark wood dye
You can then nail the track to this
As this is such a longer model, I would suggest using a thicker piece of timber

There's a
society for 4-TC fans???
I can't wait for their newsletter to appear as the guest publication on "Have I got News for You?"
Owners, I think. They are restoring a set into blue/grey for the Swanage branch. Pure bliss! :D
