Title: Fictitious Liveries
Post by: Jack on March 03, 2013, 04:54:28 PM
Whilst doing some research on FGW Fag Packet livery history, I came across this site,

http://www.fictitiousliveries.co.uk/index.php?sort=&livery=&class=&group=S&coll= (http://www.fictitiousliveries.co.uk/index.php?sort=&livery=&class=&group=S&coll=)

Some interesting pics, particularly if you are a 'kettle' lover.  :D

This site gave me a few ideas some years ago for some of the paint jobs that I've done.  An A4 was a future project once the DCC ready ones came out.......no money at the moment though sadly.  Truly a great website!

It's quite a common practice in American modelling as people create there own short line liveries and private companies.

I once had visions of putting the FGW Dynamic lines livery on a Bittern but I would need to pay someone to do it and the 'dynamic lines' is very complex and then I spent the money on something else.

I wish he was adding to the liveries on this site - there are a few more that I'd like to see.

The A4 shows where they got the Pendolino design from. Only difference the GOOD LOOKING one has got con-rods!

I saw a good one the other day, someone had painted a 00 gauge class 60 in a fictitious Freightliner green livery.
It looked really good.
I will see if i can remember where the link for the site was.....

Great idea Pengy.  When Dapol bring out the Silver-grey A4 WITH valances, I might do just that to my Silver Link without valances.

I might have a go at Transpennine vinyls for my class 350 Desiro to pre-emp their use on the Glasgow-Manchester service

Not really fictitious though!

Some really great looking liveries. I run 2 fictional companies along with my regular US outline.

:) I did this 2 years ago.  Here's the thread on it if you would like a look....  http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=557.0 (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=557.0)

I've only run it a couple of times as I got rid of my layout shortly after, and now I need 3 DCC chips to run it.
