Title: Bean Bags for cameras...
Post by: Paddy on February 27, 2013, 12:58:57 PM
Hi Folks,

I am after a small bean bag to keep my camera steady.  Now I thought it would be easy to buy one of these but so far I have drawn a blank - well apart from ones costs £20+.  Does anyone know where a reasonably priced A5 size bean bag can be bought?

Many thanks

Paddy

Just make one with a piece of cloth and a supply of polystyrene pellets
or dried peas , barley etc!

Go to your bank and ask for a cloth money bag, they are about the correct size and have a drawstring top.
Once you have it remove the drawstring and fill with poltstyrene beads, dried peas, barley as Agrippa said.
Once filled to roughly half to threequarter full sew the top closed or get SWMBO to do a better job.
Voila - one bean bag for camera to sit on  ;)

cheers John.

And ask the bank to leave some stock in the bag! :D

If unable to obtain one camping and outdoor shops
sell small stuffsacs for holding tentpegs, toiletries,
socks etc which are similar to the bank moneybags.

Either way you'll have to pinch some of
SWMBO's kitchen supplies!

Well I came across a bean bag designed for camera use that costs less than £5.  I have ordered one and I will report on its good/bad points when it arrives.

Thank you for all the advice.
