ok...
if you are going to weather the frames of a loco with an airbrush, should you remove the bogies completely, then remove the wheels, then weather the frames seperately?
when weathering the battery boxes should you tape up any access holes to the mechanism to avoid any spray getting inside?
one last question, when weathering rolling stock, do you clean the wheels with white spirit or alcohol afterwards to remove any paint on them?

Not a thick question by any means I'd say ;)
Personally when I weathered my Ford wagons (not with an airbrush but by drybrushing, still messy!) I removed the wheelsets. To me wheels covered in grey/brown frame crud don't look right, although having seen other people's ready-weathered locos and wagons the manufacturers don't bother :hmmm:

When i weather i take the wheels out and spray seperately clean Wheels look wrong on a weathered wagon I clean overspray off with a cotton bud

now i am using some carr's powders as well, do i need to spray the wagons with clear varnish after this to hold powder in place?
