Had my sensible hat on and had my recent ebay wins sent to work 8);
Lydde End - Double Road Engine Shed
Lydde End - Country Fire Station
They are now sat in the car waiting for an opportunity 8) :worried: to bypass SWMBO and be installed on the layout.
Need to then practise my, they have always been there face :angel: :angel:
Won't work my friend. Have said before, they are all Miss Marples, Poirots etc and you WILL get rumbled.
Go with 'I stole them'. The next answer of 'I'm telling you I'm a thief and you're calling me a liar!' can get a smile and maybe diffuse the situation.
Won them in the NGF raffle but they mucked up the results is another alternative. (No offence NGF peeps).
Good luck anyway. I bid on something last night while under the influence and it won this afternoon. Just waiting for her to go to bed so I can pay. Bet they deliver on a saturday, fatal!
Just tell her that you made them over the last few months during breaktime at work after seeing an article in the model rail press on 'how to build Country Fire station' and being totally inspired from that day on............. :whistle:
Good Luck.......(This message will self destruct in ten seconds :goodbye:)
Man up! ::)
As long as the mortgage/rent and the bills are getting paid first what does it matter what you spend?
Tell her exactly what they cost and if she doesn't like it she knows where the door is :P

Honesty is not always the best policy!! Or not dependant ;) I work on a need to know basis and she doesn't need to know ::)
The only dim view my mrs took was questioning why I was taking a hacksaw to two perfectly working Bachmann DCC controllers :confused1: tbh i like the finished product and now even she admits that there are less wires clogging the spare room floor under the layout.....now if only my powercab turns up whilst she's at work DOH !! :D
Are you a man or a mouse?
Come on, squeak up! :laugh:

Sneaky psychology is required. With my second to last girlfriend, she was present when I picked up a bottle of whisky for £145 in Pitlochry. After that, I could always point out that locos cost less than a bottle of whisky and lasted longer.
Plus, a single loco costs less than a Radley handbag...end of conversation.
I think some of us hobby people would have done better by staying single and not getting married, if I hadn't married I wouldn't have needed to be so shifty, sneaky and secretive :help: trouble is I got so good at it I don't feel guilty anymore :claphappy:
When I was hitched I used to spend on N gauge equal to her shoe purchases.
I spent a pigging fortune :o
