Does anyone know the difference between the various 3rd class carriages produced by Dapol? I know some are light bar ready and some not, but why so many apparently identical items? Only the product numbers appear different.

Different running numbers so that unlike in the 'good' old days, you can make up a full train without the hassle of renumbering some...

IIRC for BR maroon there were 6 different nos of the original ones and 4 of the lightbar type.
