I am having a few problems getting some of my coaches on the track correctly and then keeping them there.
The new GF coaches are ok but some are older and from ebay and its these that give the problems.
I have ordered a pack of new wheels to see if that solves the problem but just wondered if anyone had any other tips or idea's which may help?
I will also be attempting to add some weight somewhere as I think that may help? Any advice on this would also be appreciated.
Ian :thankyousign:
You can get lead as a strip, it is used in aquariums. This would give you an even distribution of weight along the length of the coaches.
This is the one I bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPA-BIG-10-FT-PLANT-WEIGHT-FOR-AQUARIUM-LIVE-PLANTS-FISH-TANK-CUT-TO-OWN-SIZE-/330681852567?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item4cfe2ca297 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPA-BIG-10-FT-PLANT-WEIGHT-FOR-AQUARIUM-LIVE-PLANTS-FISH-TANK-CUT-TO-OWN-SIZE-/330681852567?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item4cfe2ca297)
cheers John.
Thanks John. Is there an easy method of getting it into the coaches, do they come apart with ease or is there a trick too it?
On my coaches which are mainly US passenger cars the roofs lift off so I would imagine the same will be for UK coaches. It should be a case of lifting the roof at each end till you can get a better grip on it and pull it off.
This gives you access to the "floor" of the coach where you can lay a length of the weight, you may find you can use double sided tape to secure the weight and I can imagine there will be other methods for keeping the weight in place.
cheers John.
Thank you John, I will give it a go. :thankyousign:
Can't remember if you're using Code 55 track or not? :hmmm:
But before you pull your coaches apart have a read of THIS THREAD (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=7903.0) - a few have had problems with older wheels randomly derailing which any amount of track-problem investigating can't solve. Newer wheelsets seem to be the best and easiest answer, plus they look a lot better too

Thanks Paul. It is Code 55 and I have received a pack of new wheels today. I will give them a try asap.
Cheers
