Title: Farish auto ballasters

Hi all just a quick question does anyone know if you can get pre formed loads for the farish auto ballasters yet.

I havent seen anything like that from Farish yet. I hope they do.

I've never seen any I'm afraid.  Have a go yourself....  I'd say the easiest way is to glue a flat piece of plastic reasonably near the top (so you don't have to fill the whole wagon) and then sprinkle your ballast on top, then PVA.

. . . and if you want the loads to be removable just line the wagon with clingfilm first, then place the plastic in (on top of a spacer if necessary) and glue your ballast load on top. When dry pull it out using the cling film and peel it from the 'load'.  ;)

You can also usefully glue steel scrap onto the bottom of the load you've made so you can use a magnetic wand to remove the load later. Sadly most wagons are too light to do it with a giant magnet hidden in a goods shed 8)
