My wife's granny passed today at 94. Been a rough few months my gran and her twin passed away in Oct and Nov so now they are all gone.
Granny came from your side of the pond, lived in Wimbelton until the war where they moved to Biddington while waiting for Grampy to get back from Europe before they came out here as 10 pound poms. Luckily we still have one of gramps brother in the uk and the other in Canada.
Was hoping for a better start to the year after of building issues etc but then as they say stuff like this makes us stronger
Have a house full of extended relos staying with us so must be off
Bart
Terribly sorry to hear your bad news, Bart :(
My thoughts are with you and your family during this very sad start to the year :goodbye:
It is sad news Bart and these things do make us stronger due to all the family gathering, talking and catching up with what has been happening since the last time they all got together.
Along with the feelings of sadness at the loss of such an elderly member of your family, I have no doubt there would also be many smiles at stories told of their long life.
All the best John.
For me to say anything would just be a repeat of what the others before me have said so please accept those as my thoughts also at this sad time.
Condolences on your loss.
My grandfather passed away nearly 2 years, also at the age of 94. Although we were sad, he made it clear that he was not. 94 is a great age in any country. He had seen his children and grandchildren grow up and even met his great grandchildren.
He felt he had lived a good long life and was ready to go. Lives lived in full should be celebrated rather than mourned. While I miss him (and my other grandparents), I would not wish them back. To pass away peacefully at the end of a long and happy life is all any of us can ask for.
My condolences Bart.
So sorry for the bad news. All the best to you and your family.
My best wishes to you all at such a sad time, one is bad enough but three in such a short period is awful to cope with :(
Paul

May i pass on my deepest sympathy to you and your family
dave
Deepest sympathy. Very sorry to hear your bad news.
Sorry to hear of your Grans passing on Bart its always sad to loose family members or good friends.
I would like to go home to England to live but the tribe we left behind in 1957 have all passed on and I don't know any of their children, I guess we just have our fond memories.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts. Farewelled gran today a good affair and as was mentioned lots of good memories. Most of the relos have left still have some staying what a mad house it has been.
Decided to take the family of to Queensland tomorrow for a quick get away. It will be nice for Nicole to " get away" and I'm sure the kids will enjoy the theme parks
Thanks again
Bart
My deepest sympathies, a very sad event at any time.
Best wishes. Tim
