Title: Desperate to know what this piece of music is?
Post by: Newportnobby on December 26, 2012, 09:21:31 PM
I've just seen the latest Cancer Research ad on the telly and they are using a piece of music that has also been used in other ads. I love it to bits but have no idea who/what it is, so if anyone can enlighten me I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately Eva has not been with us for some years now.  :(

I thought you meant the new one with trippy looking swirls and pettri dishes, technicians etc.... That music just seems to be pretty generic.

I remember seeing her "Over the Rainbow" on TOTP2 just after she passed away (so 1996). So many, too soon...

Get the "shazam" app, it recognises songs you hear on the telly, in shops, wherever, and within seconds you can download them.

Thanks to everyone who responded :thankyousign:
The track and the video are now safely ensconced in my iPod collection.
Being a Luddite I don't have such things as Apps on my mobile so can't use Shazam. A lady at work has it, though, and it's a handy piece of kit

Got shazam on my galaxy ace when it did its last software update to its android os.
It Works well, but I did cheat and looked on cancer research uk's face book page and it was named on there. I was going to feed it to shazam but didn't have to.

You are very right, it is a wonderful song. However it wasn't the correct answer, and I didn't win $1,000,000! :oopssign:

I've been after a song or tune for ages as well.  It's on the Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailers.  It's a guitar solo when they do the run down of statistics for the latest truck.  I've seen it on an advert too, but I can't find it anywhere. :(

Just loaded that Shazam app. Seriously cool; and extremely accurate...easy to identify Michael Jackson, but correctly identifying James Galway playing Flight of the Bumblebee? That's impressive!
