Title: Embedding Videos in Posts
Post by: jpendle on February 19, 2019, 01:29:02 AM
Hi,

I just tried to create a Youtube account so that I can add videos to my posts. Google told me that I already had an account, but I couldn't remember creating one let alone remember the password. I tried the 'forgot password' link and got a verification code which I used, I was then told that Google couldn't verify who I was, so I can't use Youtube.

Is there any alternative when it comes to embedding videos in my posts?

Thanks,

John  P

You could try 'Dropbox', John. They let you have 2gb for free. Once you've signed in you upload your vid and when the upload is complete, hover your mouse over the title of it and you will see 'Share'.
Click on that and in the bottom right you'll see 'Create Link'. Click on that and then go to your forum post and 'Paste' and the link will be there

I have seen issues like this with others if you are trying to verify the account with the code but the wrong email account, or are signed in with a different google account already, we have personal and 'company' emails for a theatre group and people have fallen at this step trying to verify whilst logged into the other account...

Hi,

I created a gmail account and then used that to login to YouTube.

Turns out Google wanted to be case sensitive with my other email which they had recorded with a capital P (j.Pen...).

When I tried that I was able to use my old account as well.

Thanks,
