just got back from the fields where I encountered the typical IDOs  >:(

22 or 23 degrees so they'd got their dog chasing a tennis ball  :veryangry:

grandson and I were out for a walk in the fields, and it was  :censored: hot just walking.

anyway, on the way back saw these idiots with dog flaked out on the ground ....

"everything ok ?"

" he just collapsed "

"been chasing his ball hasn't he ? "

"err yes"

"Given him a drink ? "

" we only brought coke " possibly the drink, but perhaps not by their actions

anyway, gave the dog a drink from my water bottle and he soon improved .

"If you're walking your dog in this sort of heat, you need to have water for him, and try to control his activity "

"oh "

well that answered that question, the one with the collar was the intelligent one, the ones with the lead were the  :censored:

emjaybee

Yeah.

You don't want to confuse opposable thumbs with intelligence.

Rookie mistake.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

----------------------------------------------------------

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Intercity

Just experienced this at the lake, it's about 6 miles all the way around, took 4 bottles of water for him and stopped regularly to give it to him, still passed many people with no bag, no water, no supplies.

Even with the water I had for mine he still got to about the 5 mile mark and decided the path was a great place just to lay down, people were looking at me like I was this big bad monster, but he just wanted a rest and more to drink, after a few minutes he popped up and we were off again, albeit quite slowly.

I need to walk him earlier though as he was just about spent by the time we got to the car, once it gets over 80 we stay in the AC

And yet they'd think you were (barking :sorrysign:) mad if you accused them of trying to murder their pet ::) :veryangry:

freedom of speech is but a  fallacy.it dosnt exist here

Dogs here must be acclimatised to the heat, then, cos folks walk em in temperatures quite a lot warmer than that

but do they expect them to chase around ?

Bealman

No, and anything over 30 degrees you won't see them out there either (Well, there's always the odd one....)

Yes.  They burn around in the mid 30s, just need water and a rest now and then.  Dogs know their limits just like us.
initially I thought that; Hey, 23C isn't that cold to worry a dog. :)
Otherwise here they would only get exercise about 3 months a year. :D
To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.

Sure they're not dingoes, George? :hmmm:

Now you're bringing up the Azaria Chamberlain case.

Meryl Streep played her in a movie!  ;)

I was referring to the dogs, not the folks who walk 'em ::) :P

Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.

We took ours to the woods at 9:00 AM.
