I have finally got round to planning to dispose of my old DC n gauge locos which includes 3 American ones. When I last used them they worked fine and they have been stored in a dry place. But now I am completely DCC I have no way of testing them to see if they work prior to disposal.

Is there anyone in the Reading area with a DC system who would be willing to let me test them out? I have 10 in all.

Thanks

Just a thought - to check that the loco's actually work, would the 9v PP3 battery trick work?  ???

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

9V battery should be enough to show if there is life. Some Minitrix start sets use a simple 9V battery controller.

I would strongly recommend DCC users still keep a DC controller for testing purposes, can also be used to power lights etc.
