Mine still laying track slowly but im about to pull my hair out and scream as my mate whom im helping no sorry building it for him has changed his mind again after laying inclines track etc for the forth time. This time he saw a layout in april railway modeller and called in at my work to say "hey i have seen this and really like can you do it". So it is back to square one and starting over again. Luckily he lives 3 1/2 hrs away otherwise i think he could here me cursing him. At least it is a british layout!

Currently scratch buildina a Cornish Mining Engine house to fit onto my Cornish branch line layout.
At the moment, I'm waiting for the glue to dry so will be wathing football scores on Sky for a bit.
I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

Levelling the boards for Snow Hill up

I levelled them lengthways but this being an oldish house the floor and thus the framing it sits upon is 'geometrically challenged' si I've been adding some extra wood to the underside of the boards at the front. That should also strengthen the fronter/weaker areas as it'll form a box structure.

Would have been easier if I'd done it beforehand mind you 8)

Next to tackle some wiring glitches. Last nights operation was over-realistic with a voyager stuck outside the station due to a power failure in the back of controller area...

Working out how much Z flexi track I am going to have to buy. ???
Also trying to decide whether to have narrow boats or a coastal dock with a Clyde Puffer.

Just finishing the box up of Ive's Yard and packing it into the car to move to my new house. As it's not going to be on my office desk any more I might use the move as an opportunity to re-design it, possibly as a smaller layout while I create a new one for my office desk.

Been busy cutting up the individual foam board formers and started to glue them together.
Will take about a week to get them all done and the glue to set rock hard. Then assemble them all to make the final framework.

Just cut a section of track out to fit a point in. Scraped ballast up and soldered some more drop wires. Extended baseboard backwards by 6" so I can run around to some sidings. I now have to extend the baseboard sideways to get the actual sidings in and redo the scenery as I now have a canal ending in free space.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Did some scenic work to the top end of the main layout. There's going to be a yard of some description near the sidings. Haven't decided exactly what yet.

Been working on too much rolling stock lately. Need to get back out to the shed more.

I'm a personality prototype... you can tell, can't you.

I have a week off, so am determined to do some work on the layout, at the moment I am laying some sidings in the goods yard and connecting the wiring for the points.

At the moment I've been tidying it up so that I can actually see it!  :smiley-laughing:

Trying to mark out my parking spaces including yellow chevrons using a yellow wet chalk marker and plenty of masking tape.
Next I'm thinking about making an appointment to have my eyes tested.
So far so good.

Lifting the track again to fit microswitches and wire the frogs on my points. Originally I only planned to motorise the 4 points at the back of the layout as the others were all within easy reach. Then I decided that I really liked having them motorised so decided to lift the other 14 sets to fit them with peco motors too. Well, then after relaying them all, I decided to lift them all again to wire the frogs for better running. So I thought that I would fit peco microswitches while doing this, to do both the frog polarity and to wire to a stud and probe panel. I now know I should have planned all of this before starting to lay the track but hey, I was totally new at this and didn't know anything about motorising points and mimic panels  ???. It has not been easy for a beginner who had never even held a soldering iron before but I feel as though I have learned a lot and had some fun along the way  :).
Next, how exactly do you make a mimic panel? More fun to come methinks  ;D. Oh and it has been torture not being able to play trains for the last few days  :'(
