Yes, this has become a more common problem!
I had stopped using one of my Yahoo ID's and email, but then needed to access it after all.
I had used a disposable email address as the emergency contact and this had expired automatically and was no longer accessible.
Lesson 1 - if you use a Yahoo disposable email address and let it lapse, you can't use that same email address again.
So, I went through the Yahoo Help system which is initially online only, with no success.
Lesson 2 - Yahoo online help is great until you use a response that it does not understand. It puts you back to the start of Online Help.
Next - As I was Group owner and moderator - go onto that group on Yahoo and raise the question.
That gained me a direct response from Yahoo with a Help Desk 'phone number to call.
Called the number, had to go through every Yahoo email address and answer the security questions or personal details.
Having satisfied the help desk that I was indeed the person I know I am, I gained an email for 'Forgotten Password' to one of my other email addresses.
All a lot of carry on for what should be a simple solution.
