Hi Nicholas,

Thank you for your update on your group's numbers.

The attached flyer will hopefully provide the answers to most of your questions. Note that the station still has it's original loos (including a large slate wall-type urinal) although there are others in the museum itself.

We prefer donations to be paid in advance with a single payment per group as we don't like having to ask our gate supervisors to handle large sums of cash.

The museum is a private collection so unfortunately we are not able to register it as a charity.

Regards

Mark & Helen

The N Gauge Forum has a group of 26 , and we are planning to arrive at 2pm, by car ( not a charabanc).

Can we make donations on the day? ( £10 suggested ).

Are you a charity. Ie can you reclaim the tax? (Always worth looking into.)

What time do you close? Any visitor facilities ( loos, coffee/ tea etc).?

We are all looking forward to the trip ( and the forthcoming Series 2 )

Best wishes

Nicholas Robinson

suggested arrival is 130.

how do people want to handle prepayment?

1) could we contribute to NGF and NGF then pays Fawley?

2) I could prepay, and then you send me the ££ (paypal preferred) or bank transfer

3) any other suggestions??

the leaflet:

Fawley Hill Railway and Museum
This unique private museum and railway in rural Oxfordshire is
maintained and operated by the Fawley Museum Society Ltd.
The railway is around 1¼ miles in length and features the steepest
adhesion worked, standard gauge steam railway in the country with a
ruling gradient of 1:13 so you can be assured of some spectacular steam
action.

Visitors
The museum is private and not open to the Public.
Admittance is strictly by invitation only.
Visitors dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and are not allowed in
the museum building itself.

Opening Times and Car Parking
Car Parking is free. The Museum opens at
12:00 Noon.
To make the most of your visit we encourage visitors to arrive between
11:30 and 13:00 .
Trains run at regular intervals throughout the day until around
16:30

Train Rides
You are welcome to ride the train as often as you like.

Museum
Most of the museum is upstairs. Please take care on the stairs
and be aware that the upper gallery can become very hot on
sunny days.

Catering
Culinary delights are available from a pop
up café at the rear of
the station building or visitors are welcome to bring a picnic.

There are several picnic locations around the station area plus a
large grassy bank over looking the railway line where one can sit
and watch the train go by.

An ice cream van is usually on site.

hi nick

thanks any thoughts having seen the above please ?

can we pay on the day or BACS £10 to you please ? some people have preferred payment methods and dislike  paypal, cheques, we appreciate your input into what should be a super afternoon.chris

emjaybee

I'm happy to BACS payment to Nick, assuming he's happy to receive it. If they've asked for prior payment then we should respect that.

In light of their 'leaflet', should we adjust our previous timings?

@Railwaygun Nick, unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out.

We had an Engineer leave at Christmas and he hasn't been replaced, which means all the on-call Rotas have changed and I'm now on-call that weekend  :( :(

Mind you I have been before and can definitely say everyone will have a great time.

Regards

Neal.
