NGF Down Today

Hello all,

I'm very sorry for the site being down today for almost three hours.  This was completely out of my hands and was to do with the hosting company.

I've been told that two servers collided with each other virtually (so not actually thrown across the room by an engineer), and the two caused multiple errors before shutting down.  It took a lot of time for the engineers to find out the problem and to solve it.

Thankfully it is all sorted out for another day.  Until next time....

P.S.  To quash the rumours, I didn't run off for the afternoon and spend the raffle money.  That's tonight.....

I've seen it done with a laptop! It had a rogue IP address which clashed with a SQL server. Caused no end of problems. When the irate engineer found the problem, he threw the laptop across the server room. Solved the problem though.
