Joe90, these days it seems to be a case of:

1) Learn your highway code and use your mirrors and signals.
2) Pass your test.
3) Don't bother with 1) anymore!

I only passed my test a year ago and I'm horrified by other peoples driving!
Personal motto: You don't have to be mad to be a modeller, but I find it helps!

You are assuming that all the other road users actually have valid driving licences.  If you watch the real crime police videos, it seems that loads of drivers don't bother.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Sorry to hear you are not well Kipper and hope you get well ASAP.

Seem to be hearing a lot about Man Flu these days. seems we even have it on the bottom of the planet in Oz, can anyone please explain the difference between Man Flu and Woman Flu  ???

Please don't tell me Man Flu causes blokes to get a hairy backside cause I won't believe you.

Moogle/Joe 90, try driving a coach for a living, it scares me to see just how crazy some drivers are out there, they don't care how big the vehicle is they cut up, or how dangerous a manouvre they are making, as long as they are in front! :o  The road safety lobby are always on about how many deaths/ serious injuries occur every year, I have to ask, how is it so FEW with what I see most days! ???
Male children never grow up, we just get older and our toys become more expensive!

The world has gone crazy.
When/If I get my revolution rolling it looks like I'll have to use 2 walls. :)

well i can't hold it back any longer i just have to get it off my chest

last sunday evening i got a shout from the living room that i was needed
i went in to find my dad in absolute agony with his stomach (that he has a known problem with) so i called the specialist's out of hours helpline
to be told to get him to the hospital immediately to get him checked over

so not being able to get him off the floor there was only one thing to do phone 999 and get an ambulance
this was at 7.30 and the ambulance finally arrived at 9.20 and this was after 3 calls to tell them it was getting worse   >:(

when we finally got to the hospital they did some tests and it turned out he had a water infection that was causing the pain
they gave him some anti-biotics and painkillers and sent him home

sorry for the long post but i had to get it out as i am still fuming and considering taking it further

at least the tablets appear to be working as he is feeling better now

Hi Dave,

The problem with antibiotics for urine infections is that you end up with antibiotic resistant bacteria, usually of the ecoli variety, you might find some information here useful..

Allan
I'm not a complete idiot..some bits are missing.

davieb

thanks for that allan

will run that by the specialist when we go next week

my father has a G.I.S.T or gastro-intestinal stomal tumour and one of the main side effects of the treatment is water infections
he is on a trial of a new treatment that has been getting 80-85% cure rate but anything he takes has to be approved
by his specialist

once again thanks for the info

dave

Lawrence

Hope the old boy continues to improve Dave

The dmannose stuff is good. Some of my female friends have used it.

Hope you father gets better soon Dave. There are some wonderful new drugs out now.
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

It seems our local council has had enough of drivers smoothly negotiating roundabouts with traffic lights.
They have re-sequenced the lights so you just lurch round the roundabout from one set of lights to the next making zero progress. Grrrr >:(

Councils seem to like this!
When in rush hour is stupid to many cars go on to the roundabout then block the lights behind them, which in turn people behind them can t move and so on the round about doesn't move at all and people just beeb! Lol

You should try Bath.... From Bath abbey to the bus station there are exactly TEN sets of lights and all in less than 1/4 of a mile... :o :o :o  Our bus shedules give us 8 mins to do this and we rarely run to time on that section ! ::)

If it's got rails... you have my full, undivided attention - Steam, diesel and electric, 'tis all good !
