6 in n gauge; three from way back (20+ years old), of which two are fine and one is ok but it might get replaced as it's not as smooth running as I'd like; and three from the last 8 months. Three in a relatively short space of time because they filled gaps in the roster, and because they were available - I get the feeling with the German manufacturers at least that when it's gone, it's gone until they do a new run in a few years time. And I couldn't wait that long for a BR50 Kabinentender...

Only two at the moment as my track layout is rather limited, one Dapol 86 and a Farish 101, but I will expand in the future, up to around 20 locos or so.

I must be a miser  :P

Off-hand ... about 7 I think ... I'd need to check the inventory on the N tab to make sure.  But it is only a 5x3 layout :)  Probably get a handful more, maybe have 10 overall (mostly LNER :))

Just don't ask about OO  :o

If I regard a DMU as one loco, the current number of in service locos is

Steam/Green Diesel era   82
Near contemporary Scottish, well 2000 to 2015   20

plus a few spares such as old style B5s, Compounds, GP etc to give back up chassis.

With and A2 on order.  And a small wish list, for either new productions or kit bashing etc

I have not been modelling that long and only have a 6' x 3' layout but have accumulated 1 DMU , 4 Diesels, and 5 Steam at the moment. Plus 3 on order but will not go over 20 that has to be my limit. I retire in a year and know I will not be able to afford much when that happens, so happy to get what I can now.

Too many.  Including the Poole-built and US outline models that I have stored serviceable out in the garage, more than 300.  Layout (which is still without scenery! :( ) is a 34" x 78" double track main tail-chaser.

Me personally I have

3 x Farish J39 ( 2 lner livery and the Eastern Frieght.  Only have the set because its a Carlisle canal shed loco in the set)
1 x Dapol A4

I have a couple of commissions on order with Atso.

At present the layout is in planning stage so I run them on dads.

He has nearly 50 locos from kettles through to modern traction
