It appears my e mail has been hacked

Humble apologies to anyone who has received a spurious e mail from 'me' with a 'rogue' attachment. This could be due to me having to change my laptop a couple of weeks ago owing to hard drive failure. My old one was handed in for wiping/destruction. I cannot check until a weekday if that is the cause.
I have run an Avast check just now and am assured my laptop is clean, and I've changed my e mail password.
Again, apologies.

It's not necessarily you (or your old laptop) Mick...
With 'spoofing' or masking of the sender's address, it's just as likely to be someone else who has you in their email address book that infected...

Problem is they seem to be quite old mail addresses which, when I was hacked a couple of years ago, I deleted along with all my contacts in an effort to remove the possibility of anyone getting my contacts and doing what has been done now.
They seem to be addresses I haven't used in a long time but are definitely folk I have had contact with in the past.
