hi everyone

how easy is it to remove cork track bed once glued down?  (assuming i just used normal pva glue)

what type of glue (or other fixing method) would be best to use if you were an indecisive person who changes their plans a lot and is likely to make revisions????

cheers

Should be easy enough with a paint scraper.

You might find something like copydex easier to remove next time?

I've just done it for two 4'x2' boards, where the cork was laid for OO track. It came off a lot easier than I imagined. Just used a paint/wallpaper scraper thingy, came up really easy once I got into a rhythm. Think it will take a bit of sanding to get a surface good enough for "good" N tracklaying but fine for the bigger scales.

I've used a wallpaper scraper in the past but, as Matt says, the surface will probably require a sanding down afterwards

I would say, going forward, it depends what your substrate is.  If it's wood/ ply, you preferably would not want the adhesive you use to soak in, so PVA would not be a good choice.  As Nick @ntpntpntp said, copydex would be good, also, spray adhesive like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/evo-stik-carpet-spray-adhesive-500ml/84881 worked for me, stuck well, but not to difficult to lift when I needed it to.  It also works well on celotex type baseboards, but not on polystyrene, it melts it. HTH.
Cheers, Trev.

ok great thanks that seems easy enough!

I may try copydex or spray on carpet adhesive next time then
