Title: N Gauge News
Post by: Newportnobby on April 18, 2024, 05:06:15 PM
Is anyone aware of a problem with this site which has not been updated since 16th March?

https://www.ngaugenews.com

I dropped @TomE a PM a couple of weeks ago and have had no response :hmmm:

He logged in to RMWeb earlier today, but that is a bit odd. Hopefully all's ok.

Perhaps there is no news for N gauge.

I can't think of any since the tanks and the Twins, or have I missed something?

I'm not sure that counts, it's not like it's a new design, or even an authentic livery.

It's a new announcement from a major player in N gauge manufacturing so is newsworthy whether you approve or not.
A shame you find a company helping commemorate such an important event in history in conjunction with contributions to such a charity 'non news' :unimpressed:

Tom is in the middle of a house move I think. I am still unpacking from my last move in 1996 so understand there maybe a gap in website articles.

Yes I definitely remember him saying he was moving house, so presumably that takes priority over N gauge for now. No doubt he will be back for the Farish announcement next month

Hmmmm.

Moving house is one of life's great challenges along with birth of a child and death of a parent.

If the Ngaugenews website is a one man band then I think people need to cut him some slack.

We all have challenges in our lifetimes and we don't all run websites with up to the minute news etc.

Give the guy some space to catch his breath.

Have you read the conversation?

"Not seen Tom from N gauge news for a while, hope all's ok?"

"Think he's moving house"

Where is anyone chastising him for not posting or otherwise suggesting he doesn't deserve time to 'catch his breath'?

Exactly. My concern was not just for a missing announcement but for Tom's welfare.
Seems some are very quick to fire a broadside :hmmm:

They are not posting on here because they were sourching pitchforks and torchs  :smiley-laughing:

Hi all.

Apologies for the break in service and thanks for everyone's concern! As mentioned I've just moved house and changed jobs so NGN took a little bit of a back seat for a while but things should be getting back to normal now. It is a one man effort in my free time and these types of events can easily eat up that time.

I do have a bit of a backlog on reviews, but these will start again shortly now things are bit more settled.

Thanks again!

Tom.
