As I've concentrated on scenery and infrastructure work, there have been few rolling stock purchases.

I've bought a Dapol class 27 in green with small yellow panel, on special offer from a box-shifter, as a prelude to owning a model of one of their forthcoming class 33s, as no doubt they'll have the same mechanism.

Additionally I spotted an used Farish new-tool Black 5, 45110, on a well-known auction site. The prototype was the loco that hauled the final leg into Liverpool Lime Street on the "15 guinea special" to mark the end of regular BR steam in August 1968.

I have finally managed to get a locomotive to haul my intercity coaches, Class 47 Titan.

I am still looking for a Class 86 in intercity swallow livery, so far no luck.

Evening all,

As promised here are pics of my two (Excuse the not so brill quality!). I went for a pair, one in Crimson that shall be used on Wenlock and the other in Choc/Cream for use on Sheaf.

Oh and I've just spent the last two weeks in Florida and unexpectedly came home with some N Gauge! I found these Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad RETLAW 2 wagons in a Disney outlet shop. Now I've got to find the loco to match!

Cheers,

Ollie

I'm off to Canada at the end of the month and I'm fairly certain I'm going to suffer the same fate...  :D

Arrived today from Rails of Sheffield - a blue WD Austerity (seperated from the Longmoor pack I think it was). Really like the look of it and it runs, just needs to be run in for a bit longer before I decide what it is going to haul.

D7 'Ingleborough' in BR green.  From Hattons pre-owned, "sold as seen" because it was a non-runner.

Less VAT, this cost me all of £26.67.  Received yesterday here in California.  A Cardan shaft had not been correctly inserted into its slot on the bogie tower causing the whole mechanism to bind.  Apparently an error in assembly.  I also replaced three very badly split gears.  Ha!  I have never seen such a sweet running "non-runner."  In all respects, the model appears to be brand new.

Quite possibly my best bargain find this year.

Quite happy ... called into the Ludlow Model Rail Show today, and found a Grafar (Poole ?) NE fish van and a Peco (Poole ?) NE guards van (both second-hand, but in good condition) for £2 each off one of the exhibitors   Might already have the guards van new (no biggie if it's the same) but the fish van was a very nice find  :)

And that's on top of picking up the Peco LNER Furniture Removal Service container & conflat new from Hereford Models

Cute. What is it?

I'm a sucker for these oddball electric locomotives. One of these days I'm going to get myself a RhB 'Crocodile'. And I wish someone would make a Metropolitan Railway Bo-Bo.

I bought one similar to this from a forum member who was selling up and mine is a DCC fitted self powered Fleischmann track cleaning loco.  Has two little rotating discs between the wheels that have self adhesive mildly abrasive pads fitted, works a treat, send it in convoy with my Tomix track cleaner which hoovers up any dust created.  Hattons used to have them http://www.ehattons.com/16954/Fleischmann_7968_Class_740_Electric_track_cleaning_railcar_of_the_German_DB_in_yellow_livery_Epoc/StockDetail.aspx

As Caz said it is a track cleaning unit. I have had to order some new pads for it. Runs very well on the test track though!

Not much to show but I'm the happy recipient of four Peco 7 plank wagon kits. These will be added to the growing stock of wagons for my planned Collier layout.

Keep an eye on my kit-built rolling stock topic.

Not often I get to post in here as my layout requirements are pretty specific, but recently I got to thinking that a solitary Class 37 would be a bit strained pulling a lengthy container train, most heavy trains I've seen them on they have been double-headed :hmmm:

So, with a suitable excuse for a purchase in-hand, I found this on Ebay:-

Described as "test run only" there appears to be no wear marks on the wheels, so gave it a proper two-stage run in on the figure-8 test track just to make sure - lovely smooth runner :)
