Well I was looking at Hattons new in stock and CL68004 Rapid caught my eye.

But my finger slipped and 68001 Evolution & 68034 fell into the cart as well.

I already have 4 others but two will be top and tailing the Revolution KUA's, the other two are Scotrail & TPE liveries.

So I decided that I can't have too many CL68's on my layout, just need another TPE one now.

I've been keeping the postie busy! Spotted these TEA tankers in the Rails bargains section so thought I'd better buy some  :D They are very nice detailed models, think they will be replacing my rake of older Farish ones....

Another little bargain I found online & was lucky to get in quick were these pair of Sealion wagons in olive livery... not easy to find these days especially the price they were selling at. They will go nicely with the 2 olive ones & 3 Dutch livery ones I have that I bought when they first came out  :)

Cheers, Stu

Nice Stu - I'm looking for some of those in that livery at a reasonable price...

That cover has always annoyed me. There's no way that Farish stuff of the day would run on that track!!!

In fact, if you look closely, you can see stock sitting on it which isn't even on the rails!

Copenhagen Fields being 2FS you still couldn't run N gauge stuff through any of the turnouts!

Interesting to see the TEAs in the bargain bins, they must be the most recent wagon release before the HKA? The first in that >£40 for a 'normal' wagon bracket. I was tempted by some of the BP ones.

I was also tempted by the TEAs (I have some Poole originals and warmed over China ones), but having looked at them they just aren't much of an improvement for the price IMHO.

I think that's probably the problem. Plus I suspect a fair number of people got their "TEA tanker fix" with the Revolution ones, despite them being a totally different era.

I still don't get why they tooled an HKA, rather than just repaint an HHA either. They do seem to be into a bit of self-sabotage!

Although expensive to buy the new TEA's are very nice IMHO detail wise, finer ladders, handrails & better underframe details etc, although small details it does set them apart & give them a more up to date & in keeping with the newer rolling stock. They look much better than the old Farish ones I think.
I did think long & hard about buying some even though the price was reduced but overall I'm glad I did. They don't seem to have sold well but as others have said it's probably due to the Revolution models & the higher prices these days. I do wonder if this will mean future livery releases may not happen if they don't sell well.
Think I will probably sell on my older type Farish ones at some point to offset some of the purchase cost  :hmmm:

Antipodean

My wallet has been very thin ever since Hatton's launched their Trunk Service. Before, if I saw a couple of secondhand wagons, I'd shrug them off because they wouldn't be worth the shipping costs. Since I started filling my trunk in July, I've spent... (checks running total) about £350, which is a colossal amount for my budget.* A couple of weeks ago, I had about half of it shipped** and it arrived this morning!

The Poole Farish Raveningham Hall was the prize; it looks very fine with a rake of generic Farish coaches behind it. They'll look finer once I have some clerestory roofs 3D printed for them. One annoying thing is that they misidentified a compartment coach as corridor. Now I'll have to find more compartment stock to match.  ;)

I haven't decided yet what the Kato motorised chassis is going to be; my current thought is to 3D print a Toby bodyshell (from Thomas & Friends).

*Roughly equal to one of the rounds of stimulus payments the federal government sent out in the past six months. You should have specified which economy needed stimulating, Mr Prime Minister.  :D
**The other half is awaiting the (delayed) release of the Dapol Terriers; I have a preorder on a marsh umber one.

Hi there, @emjaybee I bought that because I had been bidding for one earlier in the day, but not having ever done that before somebody pipped me at the last 10 sec's. I was so dissapointed I looked everywhere online for one and found that and bought it straight away. I know where there is a Peco Jubilee if you want one of those.

That's very kind of you, but I already have seven or eight BachFarr Jubilees. They're addictive. All bar one have been FleaBay purchases. I've had four repainted by our very own Ozymandias, one in crimson, three in lined black which looks superb.

When it comes to EBay bidding I've done the 'last second bidding' myself. It doesn't always work. These days I track something for a day or two, decide what price I'm prepared to pay for it and then place that bid. I've managed to finally condition myself to not going over my initial bid, but it's been difficult sometimes.
