Title: Attachments to postings
Post by: Agrippa on September 16, 2012, 09:49:12 AM
Not being much of a computer expert I was wondering
about postings to the forum where members include
a video or picture etc from a 3rd party website.

Does the forum scan these for any malware etc
before they appear on the forum?

Thanks

No, the forum doesn't do that.  It will literally just check that the file is an image (PNG, JPEG, GIF, and maybe BMP) is REALLY an image.  If a file is gif, jpg and png, and is really that, it's pretty much safe from viruses anyway.

It's always best to have good protection at your end, to stop anything getting onto your system.  Too many people still don't have decent software on their systems.  Of course, if there ever is anything that is flagged up on your computer, then please let us know.
