As I still find it difficult to move without my back jerking my body with spasms I've had to give up my seat on this Thursdays Scarborough Spa Express railway trip. Anyone going to York station between 11.30 and midday will see the steam loco booked to run York-Scarborough-York, currently booked as 8F 48151. :'(
I have X rays at the local hospital on Friday which, to me, are a waste of time as an MRI scan will show up soft tissue which an X ray won't so if I have a prolapsed disc as per my quack surely the MRI scan is the more obvious choice ???

Sorry that you are still having problems, Mick and you are having to give the trip a miss.

Do hope things can get sorted for you quickly.

Best wishes to all that are under the weather right now and hope things will be better soon.

Thanks Dave - looks like it's my turn to have Liz's 'annus horribilis'
(Glad I didn't miss an 'n' out of 'annus')

NPN - Shame about the trip, as the following posts say - 'bit of a bummer'  :). As regards the disc, I, like you, can not see any point in an ordinary x-ray. When I had my MRI scan in May, that only just showed up a 'problem', so an x-ray would be have been totally useless. Which reminds me, hospital appointment should be arriving any time soon....
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

Not happy.
Rat chewed through some wires in my car last night.  Spent over an hour splicing in new bits.  >:(

Poison baits laid out in roof cavity. >:D
To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.

That's what happens when you don't feed them properly.

Got all excited today as an envelope appeared through my door from the DVLA.
"Huzzah" I thought. "Those folks are on the ball and have returned my driving licence after the agreed 6 months surrender"
Opened said envelope and it was just a form for me to renew the car tax :'(

Off at a tangent here, but during my last 3 visits to the UK, I am always amazed at how much the Brits love their dogs.

We have 'em here in Australia, too, but it always seems to me that EVERYONE there has a woof woof!

Anyway, me old schoolmate posted me a Facebook thing that his mate was asked to leave Weatherspoons Harrogate 'cos he'd taken his dog (looks like a cocker spaniel) into the beer garden.

Seems harsh to me, but there again, here in Aus, you can't take a dog near any premises.

Noted the same a couple of years ago.
Some of the ugliest dogs I have ever seen, some seem to be overly large disfigured rats.
