I've been very lucky in that the increased restrictions imposed on Preston only apply to Preston City Council areas, and I don't come under that even though the centre is just 5 miles away from me. Same applies to Mum.
I can't understand the mentality of people who would rather risk death than surrender boozing, parties, holidays etc.

Unfortunately most of those attending are probably younger, so are risking the death of others, not themselves

I'll await the e-mail telling me it's been passed to the "Fast Action Response Specialists " :smiley-laughing:

amazingly, not one mention about Covid-19 in any of the e-mails, it's about all you get if you try to phone them  :veryangry:

by the way, I was very glad to see you managed to get your donation sorted, what sort of company sends a message like "oh, here's a few quid donated by some people, who we can't actually be arsed to list"  :censored:

a bump on this with an update.

two months after formal complaint sent, still not resolved, apart from repeated requests for info I've already sent.

so another e-mail sent to the director advising as not yet resolved, and quoted relavent paragraph in CSSF letter, would be passing the matter to CSSF and FSO in UK as formal complaints.

14 days later still not even acknowledged, and head nothing from 'executive solutions' or whatever their title is today.

chat on the phone with a very helpful guy at FSO, who are contacting Paypal, re my complaint, and advising them they have 14 days to provide a copy of the file on my complaint.

that should be fun.

so, still got money in Paypal acct, but can't spend it, transfer it, send it. :censored:

and that is now 3 1/2 months since this started.

It's a pain, but you keep at it Alan - you will get there.
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

WHAT IS IT WITH ROYAL MAIL  :veryangry:

waiting for a parcel from Hong Kong, last one arrived 10 days after being sent.

this one was doing quite well till I checked the tracking number this morning....

We've got it-We have your item at Outward RDC and its on its way. More information will be available as it travels through our network.

Received-Royal Mail Received

are they trying to send it back ???

I thought that you had to wait 28 days after posting to make a claim from RM? Has that changed?

seems to depend on which person you speak to at RM customer services, or the web site which says 10 working days after due delivery date.

thinking  :beers: in a brewery  :hmmm:

by the way, item sent 23rd July still not received, but the one sent Thursday arrived this morning.

wondering if the way to go is special delivery, a couple of pounds more but next day guaranteed, and tracked through the system, so at least they can tell where to look when it gets lost.

at long last, RM finally delivered the parcel posted 23rd July so my fellow forum member has finally got his items.

and the parcel from China ?
now at my local delivery office, card being delivered tomorrow to tell me how much HM Customs want, and how much Robbing Mail wants on top.
then I can go online and pay, and tell them when to deliver it.

WHAT A SHOCK TODAY  :o

e-mail from Paypal

Your account access has been restored.

We've reviewed the information you provided for Reference ID PP-L-228204622331 and have removed the limitation. You can now access any feature that was previously limited.

We appreciate your patience in helping us resolve this issue.

only took them from 18th May to 11th August, tons of e-mails, a formal complaint, and then suddenly, just days after FSO contacting them, it's restored.  :hmmm:

funny that.

needless to say, still no explanation or apology, but then with Paypal I wasn't really expecting one from the way they've acted.

still, I can now pay the fee due to RM, card received this morning, £12.72  :'(

Customs of £4.72 and RM handling fee of £8  :veryangry:
can't help but wonder if their miss sorting of it back into the inward RDC instead of to the local depot may have had something to do with it  :hmmm: perhaps it went through customs twice.

still, that should arrive tomorrow now, and I can get my money from Paypal.

update, thought it was too good to be true, RM can't redeliver until thursday  :'(

Success..... at last.

Alan, did my payment for the Class 20 get caught up in this fiasco?
Cheers, Trev.

Hi Trev,
no, IIRC your payment went through before, and it was when I tried to spend it I found out about the 'limitation.

funny though, the one thing that could happen was funds go into my account, I just couldn't do anything with them..

more interest for Paypal I suppose  :veryangry:

also, phoned the local delivery office, spoke to a very helpful guy who said he'll check later on line that the payment made, and get the parcel delivered tomorrow.
apparently RM only updates the delivery offices once a day, and that is after the rounds have gone out, hence two days before delivery.
so, thank you to him

remember when it was called a 'walk' not a round  :-[

Newportnobby

Glad things are resolving themselves, Alan, albeit slower than it should have been.

Despite having a fly screen on the back door the little blighters still get in! I have to use an old fashioned fly swat as fly spray doesn't work. Is this some EU regulation that says that they are not allowed to harm insects? :veryangry: :censored: :veryangry:

This is what you need, the Executioner. Don't buy a cheap copy, this is far better and doesn't have the 'safety' grid covering it:

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

That could also be used to slice tomatoes, eggs and various other foods.

Alec, that thing would be of little use for me, fruit flies just get through the mesh, I had to stick some plastic over my similar one.
Cheers MIKE
