Hi All,

Firstly, I hope you are well and keeping safe during this uncertain time.

Fundraising for Bressingham

Bressingham Steam Museum is a railway museum located near Diss, Norfolk. Approaching its 60th anniversary celebrations in 2021, the museum is facing financial difficulty due to being unable to open because of the Covid-19 lockdown. It would be devastating for such a wonderful local attraction to close and therefore I am looking to raise some money to support it through this difficult time.

I have been visiting Bressingham since I was about 4 years old (I am now 23!) and it holds a very special place in my heart having sparked my life-long interest in railways and railway modelling - the picture is of a (much) younger me standing next to a huge driving wheel belonging to 6100 "Royal Scot."

I have therefore set up a Just Giving page to try and raise some money to help the musuem out:

About the Museum

Created by Alan Bloom, the museum has been the home of many famous steam locomotives over the years such as "Oliver Cromwell" and the "Royal Scot," both of which have since returned to the mainline. It has a variety of narrow-gauge railways and a short stretch of standard gauge railway. As well as the railways, the museum has a stunning garden that was started by the late Alan Bloom himself.

With a varied and fascinating collection of locomotives, traction engines and other vehicles, as well as the beautiful gardens, Bressingham is a brilliant place to visit, whether you are interested in railways or not and therefore I think it is incredibly valuable and we should do all we can to help the museum get through this difficult period.

I think anything we can do as a railway community to support our railway heritage is a positive! I have asked @Tank  and he has kindly allowed me to share the fundraising info/page here.

Cheers,

Alex
