BR produced many wagons with spoked wheels in the early days due to limited steel supplies; there are pictures in "The Illustrated History of BR Wagons (Volume 1)" of wagons build in October 1952 with spoked wheels.

Parkside Wheelsets are unreliable long-term: many of mine have separated from their tyres and rusted despite being in a stable environment. I've standardised on Bachmann now.

Apparently Peco are about to start fitting metal wheels to their wagons and they are going to be sold on their own for retro fitting.

The rep who told me about them said they would be here soon, hope a Peco soon is not the same as a Farish soon  8)
