To be fair to the beachgoers, they're a lot further apart from other people than my children would be for over an hour at a time, going to and from school on the bus ... unless they are going to replace each bus with eight separate ones!

Don't worry, Mick. It's not much different on the other side of the world. Victoria has a second wave of the virus, in Melbourne, because the families in certain suburbs either do not understand the rules, or simply disregard them.

People going to local markets on top of each other.

Very true, George. I don't give a damn about them but I do give a damn about all the people they infect through their lack of thought. To my mind, any country letting Brits in via 'air bridges' etc is just asking for trouble and it will come back to haunt us when they return without any quarantine.
This mindless stampede to reach 'normality' ('normalcy' for the Americans among us) will not end well, methinks.

I am glad to be living on the other side of Melbourne to where all the lockdowns are occurring. Although we did venture into the local shopping centre the other day, as SWMBO needed some new runners and there is no other way to get the ones she needed, but it was in and out as quick as we could. Sanitise at the car, then wash as soon as we get into the house.
Hopefully this will wake up a few people.

Unfortunately, I tend to agree, Mick. Two of the Victorian cases involved arrivals from overseas, one of them Britain.

I've had an uneasy feeling all along that here in NSW it was a hasty return.

Living not far from Bournemouth this business of littering really winds me up, we're close to several beauty spots, lovely places to go out of "Grockle" season. People come to enjoy these places and bring their picnics in bags and cool-boxes, fair enough but why when the wrappers bottles and cans are empty and much lighter can't people put them back in those bags and cool-boxes and take them home! I'm sure they would be horrified to arrive at theses places to find that they were expected to share the area with all that rubbish!

not wishing to be political, but it seems strange that NSW has had hardly any cases from hotel quarantine and from new reports it is the military which is looking after the quarantine, whereas in VIC all the cases appear to be linked back to the hotel quarantine which the VIC govt decided it could manage on its own without any military help. Both states have had a similar number of returned travellers. hmm!

I live slightly further than what appears to tbe the optimum distance for eating take aways about 2 miltes short of my house, but about ten miles from Macdonalds and various other take aways seems to be where they dump all the packaging out of the car windows. A mile or two short of reaching their caravans behind the beaches..

There's some rubbish already accumulated and the sites haven't been officially opened yet (4th July is the opening date..)
