They were designed by the Navy for carriers, but there were lots of squadrons of F14's. Many planes and their pilots were based on land for training roles, which the video could have shown. Also remember that these are long range interceptors, so could easily fly 200 miles inland before flying back to a carrier.

I don't think the video is a fake. I'm 100% certain that it's a fake.
When you get an email saying Mr.Obugu in Nigeria has died and they need your bank details to get the money released, do you keep an open mind and give them your details, or do you think SCAM and delete the email immediately?

I would delete the e-mail of course. However your comparison is flawed in that it is something that was seen and videoed and could therefore be true. As i said, I will keep an open mind as im not arogant enough to think humankind are the only life forms in a universe we only know a micro-dot about, afterall, we have yet to discover the workings of our deepest oceans let alone what may be beyond the stars of our small galaxy.

Don't you find it strange that they never ever, ever appear on live news broadcasts over somewhere like parliament square or in front of the Whitehouse. In The Day the Earth Stood Still at least they had the decency to land where quite a lot of people could see them at the same time.

That's an ancient Candid Camera trick from the 1950s. You go out in the street with your mate, stop, look up in the air and point at something and everyone else near you will look up too. Done it myself on more than one occasion. It's hilarius.

The 'things' in the sky on the video. Anyone can fake them now with a free application. Even my missus knows how to remove red eye from photos and she's useless with a puter.

Agree that it's important to keep an open mind. (Like parachutes, minds work best when open.) But, it's also important to have real evidence and I'm afraid that videos posted on the Internet can't be taken as serious evidence unless they're backed up with corroborating evidence such as reliable witness statements and physical bits and pieces. It's easy to manipulate a crowd (not just of Londoners!) like this as poliss has described and the technology that is available to manipulate digital media is very powerful. It's also a sad fact that a lot of people get a kick out of pranking the rest of us with their trickery.

Personally, I believe that we are not alone simply because of the numbers game. There are so many stars out there, with so many planets, that we simply cannot be alone. (But if they're intelligent enough to build spacecraft that can travel the vast distances involved and come here to sneak a peek at us, I can't help thinking that they're very rude for not saying hello at least!)
