It is with great sadness that this blog will go have to go on in our minds and hearts ♥️
Trying to put it into Paul's words and humour. How would he have put it? I think anyone who read his blogs will know how he would have written it. So have a read of his blogs and laugh with him.
Paul died suddenly on Wednesday 24th April 2019. A giant of a man with an even bigger heart. Taken far too young. What is that they say about the good guys?
The tales he he would tell had me aching with pain. Picture a six feet seven bearded huge male asking the salesman in Curry's to show him how good the light was on a new Hoover he was buying. Even asking if the shop lights could be turned off to see how good the light was. All the while as the young guy is pushing the hoover back and forth with no recognition of Paul humming Freddy Mercury's I want to break free.
RIP Paul. Forever in our hearts.
Farewell Mr Price, I will really miss our good humoured banter. I hope that you've found a massive LMS layout up there.
[mod]This has been cut from Paul's last thread so we can all remember a really nice guy. Here's Paul's last thread https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=37325.0 (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=37325.0)[/mod]
My condolences to the Price family, you, and all Paul's friends.
Shocked and saddened.
Smashing bloke.
RIP, PP

I am very shocked to hear this news. Having met Paul a few times at shows in our area I can say a more pleasant chap you couldn't hope to meet. So sad :(

I thought @Tank (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=2) had created a section where we could remember those no longer with us but, sorry, I just can't find it
sorry to hear of another of our ngf family passing. lets remember paul, his work, what he achieved and his family.
and maybe a tribute coach ( like the forum did for mr fagg )maybe to run on people's layouts so we can remember him
I don't know what to say really. Terrible news. Rest in peace Paul.
Richard
My thoughts are with the Domestic Overlord.
Does anyone know how to contact him to transmit our condolences ?
If he is reading Paul's e-mails that might work.
Best regards,
Joe
I read the original post regarding the sad passing of Paul, but for some reason have only just realised that is was our Paul. :o I enjoyed reading his posts about what he was doing, quite a talented man. RIP Paul.
This is really, really sad news.
I can only add my condolences to the Price family.
Paul will be very sadly missed indeed.
I'm stunned, I can't believe it. I was only jesting with him on here a few days ago.
I never met the guy, but his sense of humour, helpfulness, encouragement and love of all things railway was amazing. I was going to PM him in a day or two about a little project I was going to tackle, because I knew he'd have the answers I needed. I had a lot of fun 'sparring' with him about Jubilees, and whether you could ever have enough of them.
I'll miss his presence on the forum greatly.
M.
Paul will certainly be sadly missed. My condolences to the DO.
Paul illustrates what a wonderful Forum this is, he was openly gay but no one ever took him to task, they accepted him for what he was, an ardent LMS N gauge modeller. I hope you find a heaven full of Jubilees Paul, you deserve them. RIP Paul and sympathies to the DO
Such sad news indeed, RIP from a fellow Jubilee lover.
Very Sad news, condolences to all friends and relatives.
Very sad news. I loved his posts, his skills and his humor. He will be sadly missed.
My condolencs to his friends and family.
Please can some one pass on my condolences to his family and his Domestic Overlord ,I'm sure someone will carry on his passion for Jubilees in his honour .
RIP Paul

Paul's funeral will be held at 12 noon on Friday 10th May 2019. St Bedes Church Widnes.
Thought for this evening is of the last time I bumped into him. He was walking two tiny, tiny dogs. I think they were Yorkshire Terriers, I couldn't see properly as they were in Paul's shadow. I asked why he had such small dogs and with that cheesy green he replied "They make me look taller". ::)

Very sad to hear of Paul's passing. He'll be missed by many of us on here. All the best to his friends and family.
Very sad news indeed. Yet another well-liked and accomplished forum member lost. I also never knew the man personally, but his sense of humour was obvious from his posts. I'll never forget his train of elephants.
Condolences to his family, friends and relatives.

Hi Barry,
Thanks for sharing when and where Paul's funeral will be held. Also, thank you for one more amusing story about him.
I never got the chance to meet Paul in person (was hopeful for later this year) but he was a fantastic, kind hearted and very funny unique person. The hobby is poorer for his passing and it will miss our light hearted banter.
Unexpected and sad news. As an active contributor to the NGF and the most avid supporter of all things LMS (especially Jubilees) his passing leaves a big hole. He will be missed.

I didn't know Paul, but I read his earlier posts which were linked. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Sad news indeed. RIP Paul.
Very sad news, like many others I never met Paul personally but always enjoyed the wit and humour of his postings on the Forum, my condolences to his family and friends.
Roy
Sad news indeed, never met the guy but enjoyed his many posts.
Please pass on my condolences to his family and fiends.
Ray
Sad news indeed and my condolences to his family and friends. I only knew Paul from his posts here on the NGF. The one thing that has always stuck with me apart from his love of Jubilees was, as Bealman mentioned the train of Elephants. Also the photos of said elephants loose on the layout, the name of which escapes me at present. RIP Paul.
I think it was Foster Street.

Condolences to Paul's family.

I have only just caught up with this, my condolences to Paul's family, I enjoyed his posts and good natured fencing with @Atso (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=213) . our group has lost another of it's best - RIP
Regards,
Alex
Yes this is sad news.
I always enjoyed seeing see his latest loco projects, painting and lining done to a very good standard
R.I.P. from a fellow Jubilee fan.
very sad news, only knew him on this forum and he was very complimentary about my feeble attempts at weathering.
RIP Paul
thanks for those links, mick, just reading those lovely posts about paul's Jubilees. superb modelling
I feel the same way I felt when I learned of the passing of Andy Calvert.
As well as being a great guy Paul was an inspirational modeller for me in that his speciality (apart from Jubilees) was transforming obselete Farish Poole locos into something special.
a true gentleman and that train with the elephants made me smile !!!!
:hellosign: So sorry to hear this sad news, my condolences to his familly
regards Derek.
Pauls Funeral Details are as follows if anyone is in the area:
Friday 10th May 2019 at 12noon.
St Bedes Church
Appleton Village
Widnes
Cheshire
Half expecting a herd of elephants to be following, not unlikely with the way Paul thought.
I don't think anyone has mentioned the Dinosaur in the field on one of his exhibition layouts. He called it his "Doyouthinktheysawus"
Obviously from my distant point, I will be unable to be there. But I will be in spirit. :beers:
George
Very sad news.
I will name my N scale elephant "Paul", as it is a direct consequence of comments from him on a thread of mine which caused me to acquire it.

I am as stunned and saddened as I'm sure my fellow NGF friends are at this news.
I only knew Paul through the Forum, but he was always so kind, courteous, funny, constructive and helpful.
To his DO, his family and all that knew him - my love, condolences, hugs and best wishes.
You lost a good one, and our hearts are with you.

Seconded.
Only just read of Paul's passing. The forum will miss him. R.I.P. Paul.
Hi all,
Just had the pleasure of speaking to Paul's mum, who rang our shop.
I passed on all your messages and she was comforted by your words. She thanks you all for being such a big part of his life. She will pass your words on to his father, sister and two brothers.
At this time of the year I always think of the late Paul Price, his fantastic layout Foster Street, and his timely reminder to get the brussels sprouts on early in time for Christmas.
RIP Paul, RIP also the late Peter Charles Fagg, our favourite N Gauge eccentric :)
I can't believe it's been over four years since we lost Paul.
My Jubilee fleet, although growing, is still only a paltry 8 loco's.
Where ever you are Paul, I'm trying, honestly I am.
Gone but by no means forgotten.

Thank you very much for this, Michael.
When I joined the Forum and was making my first tentative efforts to build the eccentric Table-Top Railway, Paul made generous and encouraging posts on my layout thread. He was one of a small group of people who appeared to understand immediately what I was trying to achieve and his kind support helped me to carry on with the project after the first three versions of the layout were unsuccessful.
Here, in memory of Paul is a picture taken this morning on
Poppingham, the Table-Top Railway Mark VI. I hope the locomotive is appropriate...
