'Kaiserliche Marine' harbour layout with real water and moving ships

Apologies if this link has been posted before, but whilst looking for something else, I found a video link to this layout.

It is a harbour scene, with real water, and the ships actually move; sailing and berthing. As an ex Merchant Navy navigating officer, I shudder at the shiphandling, but nevertheless, it is quite an amazing layout.

If my German is near correct (and its probably not), it depicts ships of the Imperial German Navy just prior to WW1.

Very impressive, but it must be a bugger getting the layout to a show without spillage
I reckon the ship handling was courtesy of 'The Navy Lark'

Definitely a few cases of "Er, left hand down a bit.", closely followed by "EVERYBODY DOWN!" 

Rather impressive though. The only letdown, I thought, was the reflections of the operators from time to time.

The Captain of 100M was later dismissed from Navy service for speeding in the docks and navigation in a manner likely to be a danger to other dock users.

All tug boats are undergoing extensive repairs to their bow stems.

The guy with the mic was later spotted buying throat lozenges having taken the world record for non-stop commentating.

But the modellers were rightly praised for some damn fine work.

From the flag, he appears to be from the Austrian Navy, so perhaps that was his excuse.....

Yeah, pretty impressive. I guess there's not much can be done about the reflections in the water, though.

Some of those tugs get around a bit like startled rabbits though.

And there is an old saying that nothing on a model railway looks as unrealistic as real water.
