Making a ringtone can be done, but I have not been able to do it yet.

Go on YouTube and search on there - there are several videos that show you how to select the short piece from a song that you want as your ringtone, save it as some type of file, rename the file extension and then import into iTunes... where upon it becomes a ringtone you can sync and use.

Bit of a pain in the ass just to have your fave bit from Dancing Queen play when your phone goes.

Let me know if you get it to work as I gave up!

OK, Hotmail account.

Go to General Settings (icon with the gears on it)
Then select Mail, Contacts and Calendars
Under Accounts at the top of the screen select Add Account
The list shows different kinds of account.  Select Hotmail.
Fill out your e-mail, password and description in the fields on the next screen and touch"Next"
It will then verify your account.

After that you're on your own as I don't have a hotmail to know what it asks, but you should be pretty much done.  You then access mail using the Mail app (blue icon with the envelope on it).  Job's a goodun - I hope.

Good luck - let me know how it goes!

I don't have an iphone but I do have an Android phone and you will need to have some music on your phone to set a ringtone.
If you have any mp3 music files on your computer then you should connect your iphone to the computer via the USB plug.
Once your computer recognises your iphone you can transfer the mp3 files from your computer to your iphone.
Once the mp3 files are on your iphone you can now go into your settings and set your ringtone by selecting one of the transferred mp3 files.
If you don't know what an mp3 file is, leave it alone or find a neighbourly young person  :music:

cheers John.

Having checked out what is needed for the iPhone, it would seem you need to convert an MP3 to an M4R file for it to be used as a ringtone on an iPhone.

Here's a nice short and clear vid:

How to make an iphone ringtone with no hassle. super easy to follow and do.

My mac doesn't do what is in the vid, so i'm hoping that if you have windows that it will work for you.
