being limited to one walk a day, hairy beast has had to start recycling bones from the garden...

think this one came from a door to door double glazing salesman

and this from one of those doorstep religious types

amazing how fast a hungry husky can move  :smiley-laughing:

Did you hear about the Irish dog that was lying on the ground chewing a bone?

When he stood up his leg fell off  :D

with the higher temperatures the last few days, I noticed yesterday that the hairy beast was panting a lot more after his walk / run.

so today, even though it is only april, took a water bottle with us, and during our normal walk around the fields, he took three drinks / nearly 2 pints of water.

please think when you walk your dogs, this unexpected heat will mean they need to hydrate, some breeds more than others, but do be prepared.

the trouble with the hairy beast is he wants to play with any and every dog he sees, so early mornings and late evenings he would need to be on a lead, even if a long one, all the time due to the number of dog walkers in the fields,

the only time he can be off lead is if the field we are in is empty, and the best time for that is late morning.

so it's a toss up between him being cooler and on lead all the time, or being warmer but able to be off lead, and stretch his legs when he wants with a run around, and if he gets too hot he'll just wander along beside me.

the main thing, IMHO, is to ensure he remains hydrated, which unfortunately, a lot of dog owners don't bother about.
