That will be fun, also I'll ask them for a copy of my contract which I must have signed. :D

Please let us know the end bit when they do turn up.

You could always say that in the rush and bustle up to Christmas, you've mislaid the meter and appreciate them coming along to help find it!  :)

But in the meantime we'll have to send you bills based on estimated readings. U

Following on from my backyard birdie photos in the happy thread, here's a couple more, but in the angry thread. Grr!

Yeah, I guess the Sulphur-crested cockatoo is a nice bird, but it's also a BIG bird. It bullies the other birds away, and is too heavy for the seed tray, which ends up on the ground!

If you look in the left background on top of the old disused barbecue, there's yet more wildlife there I didn't even notice when I took the picture!

I think I'm gonna have to start charging admission to the back garden!  ;D

There looks to be more meat on that cockatoo than a pidgeon, George.
Cockatoo Casserole, anyone >:D

QuoteNot so much angry as bemused, on Hogmanay I received a letter from Scottish Gas which told me it won't be long before they're supplying my gas and thanking me for choosing them as my supplier, they'll be in touch soon to arrange a meter reading.

The thing is :-

I don't have gas.
I have never had gas.
I have no intention of getting gas.

Waiting for some galoot to turn up with a yellow vest and clipboard and wise him/her up.

I too get these relentless letters for my nonexistent boiler.  I would go gas in a heartbeat, but not available in my area.  Other one I still get is BT Broadband promises despite me telling our last Indian friend what I thought of BT's best offer of broadband for £140/month (verrry much cheaper than anyone elze zir).  I'm on a no junk mail list -wonder when it'll kick-in, our post man looks embarrassed when he shoves all the rubbish in my hands.

Just picked up no 2 daughter from Luton Airport after her trip to no 1 daughters in Germany.

Managed to avoid the £7.90 for, between 45 mins & 1 hour car park charge :-D:-D which I got stung for when I dropped her off last week.

How the hell they can charge that much for parking is completely beyond me, mind you Luton Airport don't run their own car parks, some Dick Turpin type company called APCOA do!!!

Recognise the name?? Same robbing b!@#$/ds that run most station Car Parks.......

Regards

Neal.

P.S. To top it all off, England have capitulated in the final test as well.......

Hospitals  :veryangry:  :veryangry:  :censored: :veryangry2:

My daughter was admitted to hospital last week with really bad pains in her head  :hmmm:
The specialists thought at first it may be a blood clot on her brain  :confused2:
They did a scan and found nothing

Then they moved her to another ward where the staff over New Year managed to completely mess up her meds  :veryangry:
The result was her blood sugars dropped right down  :-\

Then after messing around with her meds again her blood sugar levels have gone through the roof (around the 20-25 Mark)  :headbutt:

Then this morning some ward Quack said it was her meds that are causing all her problems........... and promptly stopped most of them  :veryangry:
Including her steroids  :unimpressed:
Resulting in my daughter being in agony with her Lupus, and high sugar levels

Luckily her Lupus specialist has been in to see her and re-instated her meds

Luckily Wigan hospital has an A&E Department as when I go to visit tonight and bump in to the ward quack he will need it  :zippedmouth:

Sorry for rambling on but I am just livid at the treatment she has received over the last couple of days  :veryangry:
if anything happens to my un-born grand child ..........well Wigan hospital won't know what's hit it  >:D

I'm speechless, Dave (well, not actually, but what I have to say about the medical situation in the UK can't be repeated :censored:
Someone really needs to get a grip on the NHS and sort the shambles out. It's bad enough we have a completely different set of rules in England to Scotland and Wales, but the sheer incompetence displayed by medics is sometimes unbelievable. I'm aware I shouldn't apply a general lambasting as there are certainly those who don't fall into the incompetent category, but the media is just full of examples of poor treatment.
It never helps to be in hospital at a weekend while the ones in the know have their time off and those who aren't in the know think they know what they're doing.
I hope the BMC gets to hear of what is going on, Dave

Mick's taken almost all the words out of my mouth.

Hope things are sorted properly for your daughter.

Geoff

I am wishing your daughter well Dave, I do hope she is out of hospital soon, not a fan of hospitals there seems to be a non caring mode since the hospitals got put into the hands of accountants.

Thanks for the messages of support  :thankyousign:

I walked in tonight to an absolute nightmare
My daughter was in tears and threatening to sign herself out  :uneasy:

I managed to calm her down and had a chat with her about what had gone on earlier
She told me that the ward Quack turned round and said to her that everything is in her head
Took her off most of her medications...............And best of all turned round and said to her
"A blood sugar level of 21 is nothing to worry about"

She has 3 so called specialists looking after her and they are all saying different things
The nurses haven't the foggiest what is going on let alone my daughter

Anyway I have the name of this ward quack so a phone call is going to be made tomorrow  ;)

And I am going to have a chat with the deputy ward sister tomorrow who happens to be a close friend of the family
to see if she can sort these so called specialists out so that my daughter can get her treatment back on course  :worried:

:beers:
dave

I second what has been already said Dave and I do feel for your daughter.  I was in hospital for three weeks and I dreaded the weekends, I had to double check my medication I was on before I went into hospital as they rarely got it right.  Fortunately not being afraid to kick up hell when needed and to the right people gave me a reputation and my treatment then improved.

I hope you get some satisfaction tomorrow and are able to get in touch with her normal doctors.

cheers John.
