The Rubberbandits. The language may put some people off, but I couldn't help laughing out loud at the daftness of it all.

Hi Dieselpunk,

I won't do the youtube link (family forum) but just watched 'horse outside' . Excellent. Great stuff. My brother in law is from Waterford, he'll love it.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers weave  :beers:

Hi Weave

Glad you enjoyed it, totally agree about the family forum bit, just love the sheer absurdity of it all, probably the same reason I enjoyed Father Ted so much too. If the brother in law is from Waterford he's probably heard of these guys already, but no harm in making sure.

Cheers

Looked them up on YouTube and agree with Weave. Excellent stuff, very amusing as well.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Just retuned my DAB radio on the hi fi and got the new version of Planet Rock, very happy as it seems to not be available on the portable one.

Bealman

Very, very rarely post on this thread, but daughter bought meal and show tickets some months ago to a David Bowie tribute show in an iconic Sydney location called The Basement.

Went with Mrs B on Friday night and a certain amount of sceptism, but it turned out to be a great night.

Meal was great, the 4 piece band was awesome,  especially  the guitarist,  who had an amazing array of home-made stomp boxes which duplicated all of the right sounds, which of course were highlighted by his total expertise on the instrument.  If you closed your eyes, you really would think you were listening to Bowie.

Not that you'd want to, cos the skinny bloke doing the singing was all glitter and glam, although I was watching the guitarist's fretwork all the time.

Anyway, everyone ended up dancing between the tables, including daughter and partner, who at 30, would have been the youngest there!  :-[

Got back to hotel at 2am, way past Bealman's bedtime.... think I was still feeling the grog over breakfast! Home on train by 2pm Saturday,  bed 3pm, got up 6am this morning.  :-[

I ain't as young as I was, Ziggy!  :beers:

Petula Clark, I want to sing with your band.

Went to a Fairport Convention gig in Stamford last night - absolutely brilliant and am now listening to their latest CD.  It is their 50th anniversary next year, just like the N Gauge Society.  What about inviting them to the Society celebrations??
