Kinski, "Airs Above Your Station" album.

10 bonus points for anyone who's heard of them.

Excellent version of another Hendrix classic, by the guitarist voted 3rd best (in some pole or other)

Saw him in 73 with Bogart and Appiche at Birmingham Town Hall. Probably the last gig before the ceiling started disintegrating and they stopped live bands.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Saw them supporting Alvvays in York last night, incredible. So taken by them that I'm off to see them in Leeds very soon.

The Standard Lamps !
Never heard of them till yesterday but we are off to see the Bluetones on their 20th Anniversary tour at Bristol in late September.
They are supported by said Standard Lamps so thought we'd better get to know their music.
I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

I've dug my vinyl collection out and connected a record deck to my WiFi HiFi - old school meets streaming :)

My daughter is impressed by the improved music quality of vinyl over digital...

But the strangest reaction is our cats. Play a compressed digital version of Dire Straits Money For Nothing and they just carry on as normal washing etc., but play the vinyl version and they go bat crazy! Wide eyes, ears back and they start running around!

Has anybody else seen this?

Best regards
Michael

At the moment I'm listening to one of these, an XDuoo :-

which is a walkman-like thing 'sept it can handle .flac and other lossless compressed audio
(unlike the sony stuff, so we are liberated from the MP3 indignities ! )
and has a min of 32Gb (cf 8Gb or less on other devices)
direct from China cos it isnt yet on sale here.

Almost enough to encompass the life works of Franz J. Haydn on less than a thumbnail microSD :(
- excluding the dismal baryton stuff (which was a sop to his employer the Prince E.)  Sobering thoughts !!

My head hurts, where do you put the cassettes in?

I am that old.....

Welcome to the forum, Lugworm
You're never too old to listen to quality music

It's nice to be reminded of the old favourites. I downloaded Spooky Tooth's greatest hits the other week after seeing a post on here. I also downloaded this.
