G'day All, A friend of mine who is not highly computer literate had a Facebook page set up for them by a third party with the associated email address being a Yahoo one. All has been going well for quite a while with the automatic log in happening. Last week my friend was prompted into putting their mobile phone number into the Facebook system. Since then, or about then, they have not been able to access their Facebook page. They get texts to their mobile phone about updates etc, but they do not appear to be getting emails about the updates. I have tried several time to get Facebook to send the `forgotten password' message to their Yahoo email account but nothing happens. Sadly the person who set up the account has left very unclear notes about what the Facebook password could be and has `dropped off' the local social network for a while (both internet and physical).
Any suggestions or similar experiences?
Thanks, Andrew G.

 :sorrysign:

I gave up using Faceache long ago, LINE seems to be more popular in Japan without so many problems (yet).

Now a few of my ex-Facebook friends have it in the UK, I'm surprised it's not more widely used.  It may be a better alternative eventually.

Apart from that, all you can do is hope you track down the person who knows the password as far as I can see.

PROBLEM FIXED!!
Two email addresses, one for the Facebook Account, the other for the actual email account of my friend. Apparently one of them has a ".au" on the end, the other doesn't, somehow - the person who set it up surfaced and sorted it all out for us.

I'm very glad to hear that, seem to recollect a difference in Aussie addresses but would have thought it would be standard throughout the country.  Unsure if putting the phone no. into the system would have caused a problem though.

For LINE, it's much simpler to either use the tel. no. of my phone, or use the QR code facility.  I don't actually use my password, haven't a clue what it is now!!
