Title: Replacement Chassis for Poole DMUs
Post by: PaulinSouthMidlands on April 12, 2018, 05:32:30 PM
Wellington Models used to sell Greenmax Chassis which were a good fit for Farish DMUs and Railcars.

However their website appears to be defunct.

Does anyone know the greenmax part numbers for the 18m, 20m and 22m chassis, also any UK distributor?

If not, is there a Tomix alternative?

I used a Green Max 5512 for my 304 EMU (I was going to use it for my 325 but changed my mind).  Dimensions are given in this thread:

Repair the original chassis - they are easy to fix, parts are available and they can be made to run very nicely.

I've never seen a Poole DMU with a Tomix chassis that looks right as the bogie wheelbase are invariably wrong.

Cheers,
Alan

Got so say, what he said.

I believe it was the good Dr that encouraged me to repair my own Farish 159 (photos on the Filton thread linked below), and if I can do it anybody can!
